Practice 05 · Guest Experience & People
Turn service standards into repeatable daily work.
The guest experience is shaped by small decisions across the whole stay. I help connect the property promise, guest communication, service routines and team guidance so the operation can deliver more consistently.
Where it helps
Start with the
actual friction.
Hotels and short-term rental operators refining service standards, organizing reviews and guest communication, training a team or designing a repeat-guest proposition.
- Guest journey review
Review the information and handovers before arrival, during the stay and after departure; identify mismatched expectations and avoidable friction.
- Reviews and reputation workflows
Create a consistent approach to feedback requests, response ownership, issue escalation and learning from recurring themes.
- SOPs and quality standards
Turn the expected service into practical routines, checklists, responsibilities and quality checks.
- HR processes and training
Support role clarity, onboarding materials and task-based training that reflects how the property actually operates.
- Loyalty program design
Define who the program serves, what members receive, how benefits work and what systems and team processes would be needed to deliver it.
What you take away
Defined outputs.
A usable handover.
A scope of work should make the delivery clear before implementation begins.
- A map of the guest journey and the service gaps to address.
- Agreed communication and review-response workflows.
- Selected SOPs, checklists and service standards.
- Role-based onboarding or training materials for the scoped tasks.
- Where included, a loyalty-program blueprint with benefit rules and an implementation plan.
How the work moves
From understanding
to implementation.
Understand
Understand the stay, the team and existing guest feedback.
Structure
Identify recurring friction and choose priorities.
Implement
Create the workflows, standards and training materials.
Verify
Walk through the process with the team and refine the handover.
Good questions
Before
we start.
Can you help improve our review process?
Yes. The work can cover feedback requests, response templates, ownership, escalation and recurring-issue reporting. The aim is to make feedback useful and the response process consistent, while keeping reviews authentic.
Will staff receive practical training?
Training can be included around the agreed roles and tasks. Materials are designed to support daily use, with examples and checklists rather than relying only on a presentation.
Does loyalty design include an app or subscription billing?
Those are separate implementation components. Program design establishes benefits, eligibility, operating rules and the guest journey. Billing, a member portal and integrations are then scoped against the selected systems.
Can we start with one department or guest touchpoint?
Yes. A focused front-desk handover, arrival journey, review workflow or onboarding process can be a useful first engagement. The boundaries and deliverables are agreed before work begins.
What needs to
work better?
Let’s define a practical scope around your property and the outcome you need.
